Emergency Travel Document (ETD)

An Emergency Travel Document (ETD) can be issued if your passport or Identity Card has been lost, stolen or damaged. Unlike your normal passport or Identity Card, which is valid for 10 years, it is only valid for 5 days from the date of issue and can only be used to travel to Italy or to the country of residence according to the AIRE registration.

You can apply for an Emergency Travel Document in person at the Italian Consulate General in Edinburgh without an appointment from 9:30 to 12:30 (Monday to Thursday).

PLEASE NOTE: Outside opening hours, ETD  can be issued only in case of proven emergency. You must report your emergency by calling: +44 (0)7713159591
