1) STUDENTS ENROLLING IN FULL ITALIAN UNIVERSITY PROGRAMS

IMPORTANT: You need to contact the competent Consular school office in the U.K. (scuole.londra@esteri.it) to accomplish with all the requirements regulated by the M.I.U.R. (Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research) to enroll in a full Italian University program. Appointments for a visa can be requested only upon confirmation of admission to the entrance exam at an Italian University.

  1. Duly completed National Visa (D Type) application form*;
  2. Valid passport or travel document* (original & photocopy);
  3. Valid U.K. Residence Permit/Card* (original & photocopy);
  4. 1 recent, colour passport size photo*
  5. Cover letter;
  6. Duly completed and signed “Form A” downloaded from the Studiare in Italia website (click HERE) & photocopy;
  7. Declaration of value & photocopy (if applicable), issued by the School Office of the Italian Consulate/Embassy having jurisdiction over the University/School that issued the certificate;
  8. For university programs taught in Italian, proof of proficiency in Italian language, & photocopy;
  9. One-way travel ticket reservation*;
  10. Proof of accommodation* & photocopy;
  11. Travel insurance* & photocopy;
  12. Proof of financial means of support in Italy of no less than €457,99 for each month of your university course, or €5.953,87 per year, & photocopy. The availability can be proven with:
    1. Original university letter confirming the allocation of a suitable scholarship;
    2. Last 3 months’ U.K. personal bank statements OR parents’ last 3 months’ bank statement alongside with original copy of birth certificate*. Please, note:
      • original birth certificates* showing parents’ names must be submitted;
      • bank statements no older than 30 day from the day of submission must be in GBP or EURO only, if in a different currency an official letter signed by the bank manager must be provided in English indicating the balance conversion in Euros;
  13. Return Envelope*;
  14. Fees* €50.00;

2) EXCHANGE AND MOBILITY PROGRAMS

  1. Duly completed application form*: for short stay visas up to 90 days, please use Schengen Visa (C Type) application form; for long stay visas beyond 90 days please use National Visa (D Type) application form;
  2. Valid passport or travel document* (original & photocopy);
  3. U.K. Residence Permit/Card (original & photocopy), valid at least 3 months beyond the return date of your trip in Italy for Schengen/Short term visa. Valid (just non expired) U.K. Residence Permit/Card (original & photocopy) for National/Long term visa;
  4. For Schengen/Short term visa only: photocopies of all previous Schengen visas issued in the last 5 years (if previous Schengen visas are endorsed in an old passport, then photocopies of the old passport must also be provided);
  5. 1 recent, colour passport size photo*;
  6. Cover letter;
  7. Original recent letter (not older than one month) of acceptance from University in Italy, specifying the type of course, number of weekly hours and dates, & photocopy;
  8. Original recent letter (not older than one month) from University in the U.K. confirming enrolment and applicant’s mobility program, & photocopy;
  9. Travel ticket reservations*: round-trip for short-term Schengen Visa of less than 90 days; one-way for long-term National visa of more than 90 days;
  10. Proof of accommodation* & photocopy;
  11. Travel insurance* & photocopy;
  12. Proof of financial means of support in Italy as per Ministry of Interior Directive 1.3.2000*, & photocopy. The availability can be proven with:
    1. Original university letter confirming the allocation of a suitable scholarship;
    2. Last 3 months’ U.K. personal bank statements OR parents’ last 3 months’ bank statement alongside with original copy of birth certificate*. Please, note:
      • original birth certificates* showing parents’ names must be submitted;
      • bank statements no older than 30 day from the day of submission must be in GBP or EURO only, if in a different currency an official letter signed by the bank manager must be provided in English indicating the balance conversion in Euros;
  13. Return Envelope*;

3) STUDENTS INDEPENDENTLY ATTENDING A COURSE ON ITALIAN LANGUAGE/CULTURE

  1. Duly completed application form*: for short stay visas up to 90 days, please use Schengen Visa (C Type) application form; for long stay visas beyond 90 days please use National Visa (D Type) application form;
  2. Valid passport or travel document* (original & photocopy);
  3. U.K. Residence Permit/Card (original & photocopy), valid at least 3 months beyond the return date of your trip in Italy for Schengen/Short term visa. Valid (just non expired) U.K. Residence Permit/Card (original & photocopy) for National/Long term visa;
  4. For Schengen/Short term visa only: photocopies of all previous Schengen visas issued in the last 5 years (if previous Schengen visas are endorsed in an old passport, then photocopies of the old passport must also be provided);
  5. 1 recent, colour passport size photo*
  6. Cover letter;
  7. Recent letter (not older than one month) of acceptance from the host Institution/School in Italy (original, & photocopy), specifying: the applicant already possess some knowledge of Italian language and the course is of a higher level; the course is full time; start and end dates;
  8. Transcript of previous studies in the applicant’s home country, & photocopy (if issued in a language different from English, MUST be translated into English or Italian and the translation must be certified by the Italian Consular Office in the issuing Country OR by the Consular Authority of the issuing Country in the U.K.);
  9. Travel ticket reservations*: round-trip for short-term Schengen Visa of less than 90 days; one-way for long-term National visa of more than 90 days;
  10. Proof of accommodation*, & photocopy;
  11. Travel insurance*, & photocopy;
  12. Proof of financial means of support in Italy as per Ministry of Interior Directive 1.3.2000*, & photocopy. The availability can be proven with:

4) INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

  1. Duly completed application form*: for short stay visas up to 90 days, please use Schengen Visa (C Type) application form; for long stay visas beyond 90 days please use National Visa (D Type) application form;

  3. U.K. Residence Permit/Card (original & photocopy), valid at least 3 months beyond the return date of your trip in Italy for Schengen/Short term visa. Valid (just non expired) U.K. Residence Permit/Card (original & photocopy) for National/Long term visa;

  6. Cover letter;
  7. Documentation concerning the internship program, & photocopy: please note, the internship program must be organized by authorized entities (as per Art. 2 paragraph 1 of Decree of Ministry of Labor and Welfare N. 142 dated 03.25.1998) and implemented according to a specific agreement between the promoting institution and the hosting employer. The visa can be requested by presenting a formal internship project (as per Art. 18 of Law N. 196/97 and Art. 4 of the D.M. N. 142/98) duly stamped by the competent Italian Region;
  8. Transcript of previous studies in the applicant’s home country, & photocopy (if issued in a language different from English, MUST be translated into English or Italian and the translation must be certified by the Italian Consular Office in the issuing Country OR by the Consular Authority of the issuing Country in the U.K.);
  9. Travel ticket reservations*: round-trip for short-term Schengen Visa of less than 90 days; one-way for long-term National visa of more than 90 days;
  10. Proof of accommodation* & photocopy;
  11. Travel insurance* & photocopy;

5) PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

  1. Duly completed application form*: for short stay visas up to 90 days, please use Schengen Visa (C Type) application form; for long stay visas beyond 90 days please use National Visa (D Type) application form;
  2. Valid passport or travel document* (original & photocopy);
  3. U.K. Residence Permit/Card (original & photocopy), valid at least 3 months beyond the return date of your trip in Italy for Schengen/Short term visa. Valid (just non expired) U.K. Residence Permit/Card (original & photocopy) for National/Long term visa;
  4. For Schengen/Short term visa only: photocopies of all previous Schengen visas issued in the last 5 years (if previous Schengen visas are endorsed in an old passport, then photocopies of the old passport must also be provided);
  5. 1 recent, colour passport size photo*
  6. Cover letter;
  7. Enrolment letter to a professional training course, mentioning its duration, subject of the training program, credentials etc., & photocopy. The course must be coherent with previous education and organized by training entities authorized to perform professional training programs (as per Art. 142 paragraph 1, letter d, DL 112/1998 and Decree of the Ministry of Labor N. 166 dated 05.25.2001). The course cannot exceed the duration of 24 months and must aim to obtain a professional qualification or recognition of achieved skills. In the enrolment letter the training institution must declare that it has been accredited according to the above mentioned laws to carry out professional training courses;
  8. Transcript of previous studies in the applicant’s home country, & photocopy (if issued in a language different from English, MUST be translated into English or Italian and the translation must be certified by the Italian Consular Office in the issuing Country OR by the Consular Authority of the issuing Country in the U.K.);
