We kindly inform you that, in compliance with DPCM on March 8th and March 9th 2020, which put in place urgent measures to contain and fight the diffusion of virus COVID-19, non-Italian citizens, once entered in Italy, will also fall under the prescriptions of these DPCM about the restriction of freedom of movement within the national territory, unless there would be proved working or health-related necessities of movements.
If you have already obtained a Schengen Visa for Italy from this Consulate with a validity between 01/02/2020 and 30/06/2020 and have NOT used it yet, you may ask for a re-issue given the following conditions:
- the trip is not cancelled, but just postponed;
- you must be able to present evidence that the trip has been rescheduled and that you have not received any refund (applies for travel tickets and accommodation);
- the Visa has not been used for travelling in other Schengen countries;
- new visas will be issued only for trips planned after 01/07/2020.
PLEASE NOTE: no further documentation will be required and the new visa will be re-issued as a matter of courtesy free of charge.
