Please email\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:cittadinanza.edimburgo@esteri.it\">cittadinanza.edimburgo@esteri.it<\/a>, with \u201cCitizenship Renunciation\u201d in the subject line, and attach the following documents in PDF format:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Full extract of your Italian birth certificate (Atto integrale di nascita) issued by the Italian Municipality where you were registered at birth.<\/li>\n<li>Certificate of British naturalization, apostilled and translated into Italian. The translation must be certified by this Consulate before submission (see\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/consedimburgo.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/traduzione-e-legalizzazione-dei-documenti\/\">HERE<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>Recent proof of address (not older than three months): utility bill, council tax, bank statement, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Valid British passport.<\/li>\n<li>Any expired Italian passport or ID (if applicable).<\/li>\n<li>Receipt of payment for the \u20ac250 fee. This fee cannot be paid at the Consulate and must be made via bank transfer. The bank transfer receipt should include:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Beneficiary Account Name<\/strong>: \u201cMINISTERO DELL\u2019INTERNO D.L.C.I. \u2013 CITTADINANZA\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>Beneficiary Address<\/strong>: Via Cavour 6, 00184 ROMA<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reason for payment<\/strong>: Citizenship Renunciation, including your name and surname<\/li>\n<li><strong>International Bank Account Number (IBAN)<\/strong>: IT54D0760103200000000809020<\/li>\n<li><strong>Receiving Bank Name<\/strong>: POSTE ITALIANE S.P.A.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Receiving Bank BIC\/SWIFT code<\/strong>: BPPIITRRXXX<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>All documents must be submitted in their original form on the day of your appointment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE<\/strong>: A Consular stamp tax payment (see <a href=\"https:\/\/consedimburgo.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/548-2\/\">Consular Fees<\/a>, Article 4b) is due on the day of the appointment.<\/p>\n<p>Appointments cannot be booked by phone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"To formally renounce your Italian citizenship, you must schedule an appointment with the Citizenship Office.
