For this reason, if you need a citizenship certificate to register the birth certificate of a minor, it MUST be requested directly from the Italian Comune of AIRE registration, as the Comune possess all information relating to effective date.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For all other purposes<\/strong> (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">except<\/span> for registering the birth certificate of a minor) a citizenship certificate can <strong>only<\/strong> be requested by Italian citizens duly registered with AIRE and only by post at the following address:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Citizenship Office<br \/>\nItalian Consulate General<br \/>\nItaly House<br \/>\n20-22 East London Street<br \/>\nEdinburgh &#8211; EH7 4BQ<\/p>\n<p>To request a citizenship certificate you must send the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Application form (click <a href=\"https:\/\/consedimburgo.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/modulistica\/\"><strong>HERE<\/strong><\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Photocopy of ITALIAN passport or ID (pages with photo and signature)<\/li>\n<li>Payment\u00a0 by Postal Order ONLY(do not send cash nor cheques) to &#8220;Italian Consulate General&#8221; (please write your name at the back of the Postal order). For the relevant fees click <a href=\"https:\/\/consedimburgo.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/548-2\/\"><strong>HERE<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once issued, the certificate will be sent to your address by ordinary post (2nd class).
