The photo must meet ICAO rules. Please see <a href=\"https:\/\/consedimburgo.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/photograph_guidelines_it.pdf\">photograph guidelines<\/a><\/li>\n<li>payment (see\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/consedimburgo.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/548-2\/\"><strong>HERE<\/strong><\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>your current, expired or damaged passport.<\/li>\n<li>If your passport has been lost or stolen, you must also submit a Lost\/Stolen Report Form (see <a href=\"https:\/\/consedimburgo.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/modulistica\/\"><strong>HERE<\/strong><\/a>)\u00a0and another form of\u00a0 identity. If possible, please provide a photocopy of your lost or stolen passport.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please read the checklist carefully before submitting your passport application. (see <a href=\"https:\/\/consedimburgo.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/modulistica\/\"><strong>HERE<\/strong><\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Please be advised that if you fail to submit the items listed in the checklist, your passport application will be rejected.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div id=\"main\" role=\"main\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<article id=\"articolo_centro\" class=\"col-md-19 col-sm-19 padding_articolo item-page\" role=\"main\" aria-label=\"articolo\">\n<div>\n<p><strong>NOTE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Following the DL 13th June 2023, no. 69, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">effective\u00a0from 14th June 2023<\/span> it is not necessary anymore to submit the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">act of consent from the other parent, when you have any child under the age of 18<\/span>.<br \/>\nIt is necessary to declare under the own responsibility that there is no inhibiting legal measure preventing the issue of a passport, pursuant to artt. 46 e 47 del DPR 445\/2000. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">We strongly advice to use the updated forms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, new art. 3-bis of Law 1185\/1967 states that &#8211; should exist the real, concrete risk that the parent of a child under the age of 18 move abroad in order not to comply with their duties or not to pay alimonies, the other parent can apply for inhibiting the issue of the travel document.<br \/>\nApplication shall be submitted to the Court relevant for the place of residence of the minor. In case the child lives abroad, the Court is the one relevant of the place where the child is registered on AIRE.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fees and how to pay:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The cost of a passport is subject to quarterly fluctuations in the exchange rate between EUR\/GBP.<br \/>\nTo find out how much a passport costs, please\u00a0see <a href=\"https:\/\/consedimburgo.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/548-2\/\"><strong>HERE<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You can pay:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>in cash at the office<\/li>\n<li>by debit card \u2013\u00a0<em>It is mandatory to use a\u00a0<strong>british<\/strong>\u00a0plastic card (no phone apps)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>by Postal Order made payable to the \u201cItalian Consulate General\u201d. Don\u2019t forget to write your name on the back. You can buy a postal order from any local Post Office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Processing time:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you are registered with the Italian Consulate in Edinburgh (A.I.R.E or Anagrafe Italiani Residenti all\u2019Estero), if your application is complete and if your residence and civil status is up to date, the passport can be issued on the same day (unless\u00a0we require\u00a0the necessary\u00a0authorization from the Questura in Italy &#8211; e.g. for citizens registered on AIRE for less than one year). It can take longer if more information is needed, if your application hasn\u2019t been filled out correctly or if\u00a0we need to update your civil status position (registration of birth\/death\/marriage\/divorce certificates).
